The Las Vegas Zombie Run is a 5k or 1-mile trail run/walk to benefit local charity Generation Vegas taking place on Sunday, October 26th, 2014. The race will be held at Sunset Park Trails. Check-in begins at 7 a.m. and the race will begin at 9 a.m.

Q: How do I register?

A: Register by visiting our Active.com registration page

Q: How do I register as a zombie?

A: Please visit our volunteer page for more information on how to become a zombie.

Q: How old do I need to be to participate?

A: Race participants must be 12 years old and up, as of race day. Any participant under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a release.

Q: What does my registration fee include?

A: The first 2,500 people to register are guaranteed to receive a running bib, your flag belt, a race commemorative item and a goodie bag. Subsequent runners will receive a running bib and flag belt but other items cannot be guaranteed.

Q: What type of race is this?

A: This is a 5k or 1-mile trail run/walk. Please be aware that you will be running on multiple uneven surfaces including pavement, grass, dirt and gravel.

Q: Does everyone start at the same time?

A: No, groups of runners will start at 10-minute intervals to alleviate course crowding. You will be preassigned to a specific start time, which you will find out at packet pick up or on race day. Please see below for information on guaranteeing the same start time as someone else.

Q: I want to run with a friend, how do I guarantee we start at the same time?

A: To ensure you and your friend(s) are placed in the same start group, you must create a team on active.com. All team members will be placed in the same group on race day. If you are registered as individuals, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to run together.

Q: Will this be a competitive, timed event?

A: No, this race is about fun and surviving zombies. The event will not be timed. Also, if you’re out to set a personal record, this probably isn’t the right race to attempt it. There are many novice participants and don’t forget about the zombies who will get in your way and slow you down.

Q: How hardcore are these zombies? Will they really be chasing me?

A: The zombies will try to suck the life out of you by stealing your flags but our zombies should be relatively well behaved. Zombies will stay in a defined area and will not give chase. They have been instructed to grab flags ONLY. The key is to bob and weave around them when you encounter them on the course.

Q: Will I be able to defend myself against the zombies?

A: While zombies may seem frightening, please remember they are just volunteers and not actual zombies (as far as we know…). That means just as they have been instructed not to make contact with you, you CANNOT MAKE CONTACT with the zombies. All runners/walkers will sign a code of conduct agreement before participating and those who are overly aggressive will be removed from the course immediately and will not be allowed to finish the race.

Q: Can I wear a costume and bring props?

A: We love costumes, the more creative the better! However, in order to keep everyone safe on the course PROPS ARE NOT PERMITTED. If you arrive at the race with a prop, you will be asked to leave it behind before you are allowed to start the race.

Q: Where should my flags go?

A: Your belt will include three flags. One should be placed on each hip and one in the middle of your back.

Q: Will there be a bag check? Should I bring money?

A: Yes, please bring your wallets! There will be fun after-race activities, tasty food and drink, and race merchandise available – all to benefit a good cause! We will have a constantly monitored bag check station where you can safely store your personal belongings during the race.

Q: I signed up for The Las Vegas Zombie Run but now realize I can’t make it, is it possible to get a refund?

A: While we understand that sometimes things happen, 100% of the registration fees from the Zombie Run are being donated to Generation Vegas. Since all of the money is being donated to charity, we are not offering refunds.
